Greater Lowell DekHockey Center November 11, 2012: Late in the 2nd period with the Bears and the Maple Leafs all tied up at 2-2 Adam Silva's tenacity  in the offensive corner was rewarded when he worked the ball away from a Leaf's player and laid a nice pass to Adam Callahan. Callahan made no mistake and slammed it home to give the Bears a 3-2 lead and continued the momentum the Bears had established. Early in the 3rd Period Defensemen Joshua Grey blasted a shot from the point and scored to give the Bears the much needed insurance goal giving them a 4-2 lead. The game would end that way giving the Bears the Championship.  The game did not look good for the Bears as they were not playing well giving up 2 goals to the talented Leafs team. But late in the 2nd period League MVP and top scorer (24-11-35) Joe Gagnon started the rally for the Bears scoring on a partial break away by roofing it on one of the League's top goalies Tyler North as he was being slammed to the ground by a Leaf player. Gagnon's goal woke up the Bears, and the crowd as the Bears started to dominate play. Less than a minute later Gagnon scored his second goal of the game with a laser beam slap shot from the point that seemed to have eyes as it found it's way to the back of the Leafs net which sent the crowd into frenzy! The solid defensive play by Max Caggiano, Josh Grey, Samantha Harris, and Matt Martineau and goalie Ryan Hardy made sure the Bears were able to hang on to their 4-2 lead for the remaining 8 minutes of the game. Justin Silva and Drew Denommee were a major contributors on offense and defensive in this game and all season, doing a lot of work that does not always show up on the scoreboard but necessary to win. Justin Silva the Bears 2nd leading scorer with (12-6-18) finished 6th in the League in scoring.
